See Media secures Disability Confident accreditation

See Media has secured Disability Confident Level 1 accreditation, as it continues its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

The Government’s Disability Confident scheme supports employers in deepening their knowledge of disability employment and inclusivity, ensuring disabled people and those with long term health conditions are able to reach their full potential at work. As a Level 1 certified member, See Media is part of a network of employers who are taking action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.

See Media is also certified by Communication Access UK, which provides training and standards to help organisations support people with communication difficulties.

To make sure everyone can engage with the messages See Media shares, whether for its own channels or on behalf of its clients, the team keeps up to date with new guidance and recommendations for accessibility in content creation. The company’s helpful Guide to Accessible Content Creation draws on the latest guidance and industry standards, paired with its own day-to-day practices.

“Achieving and maintaining the Disability Confident accreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where disabled people can thrive,” said Stuart Macdonald, Managing Director of See Media.

“As a PR and communications agency that’s passionate about helping the housing sector to make a positive difference in people’s lives, we want to attract the best people from across society and for everyone in our team to have the chance to flourish. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, we’ll have new opportunities to learn and further develop as an inclusive employer.”

Following the Level 1 accreditation, See Media will work towards achieving Disability Confident Level 2, which recognises employers that are going the extra mile to ensure disabled people get a fair chance.
