As March draws to a close, I realise that I have very quickly completed my first month as Account Manager at See Media.
I started my career nearly 15 years ago, working at a national magazine in London as a features intern. This experience led to a publicist role in the press office at Lime Pictures, an independent television production company based in South Liverpool, which makes programmes such as Hollyoaks and The Only Way is Essex.
After nine years, I made the move to a PR and marketing agency in Liverpool City Centre, managing B2B and B2C accounts across the built environment, third sector, tourism and leisure, education, and engineering.
My most successful campaigns included launching the Capital Appeal for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, Liverpool, and the launch of Splash Tours Liverpool, an amphibious (land and water) tour.
But after four years, it was time for a new challenge, and I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and supportive start at See Media.
I was initially impressed by See Media’s realistic approach to remote working. As a mum of two and I think anyone striving for a good work-life balance, See Media has a refreshing outlook, with robust processes in place that make sure everyone can work efficiently and achieve great results in a setting that they choose, whether that be in a co-working space or at home.
They balance this with regular in-person away days, the next one is in Birmingham, a city (I’m ashamed to say) I’ve only been to once, and I also had the chance to meet with a client at this month’s Housing Finance Conference and Exhibition in Liverpool.
Above all, when I was learning more about this new company I was joining, I was impressed with how well See Media communicates the work that it does and the results that it gets for its clients in the social and affordable housing sector.
These results are for organisations that are improving lives and changing outcomes, and that is something I’m looking forward to getting more involved with in my new role.
