See Media has once again pledged its support to a chosen charity for the year, choosing the Buddy Bag Foundation to raise funds and awareness for in 2025.
The charity was set up by Karen Williams OBE following inspiration from a similar scheme she read about on a trip to Australia. On her return to the UK, she established The Buddy Bag Foundation to support children escaping violence and entering emergency care.
In 2024, the charity reached the milestone of packing its 60,000th Buddy Bag for children who have fled domestic abuse. The See Media team was inspired by the work being done to support children with essentials and comfort items, deciding to make it their charity of the year for 2025.
After raising over £1,500 for Zarach last year, repeatedly meeting and increasing its targets from an initial £500 pledge, the team at See Media are confident that they can once again raise much-needed funds.
Stuart Macdonald, See Media’s Managing Director, who will be kicking off the fundraising with a half-marathon trail run at Forfar in February, said: “The team and I are really pleased to be supporting The Buddy Bag Foundation this year.
“We’ve set ourselves a target of £500, but hope that, like last year, we’ll be able to surpass that and pay for as many Buddy Bags as we can, providing some small joy for children having to leave behind their homes and belongings.”
Each Buddy Bag, which costs £25 to put together, includes toiletries and pyjamas, as well as comfort items such as a book and a teddy bear. Bags are tailored to suit babies, children and young people according to their age group and gender.
The team will be sharing fundraising activities and opportunities to donate on LinkedIn and in our newsletter, The House Blend, throughout the year.
